Medical Affairs

As part of the Ornge commitment to excellence in transport medicine, the Medical Affairs department is an important link between the physicians who provide medical support and direction and the paramedics who perform patient care during transport.

This department is responsible for the management of all patient care documentation, collaboration with physicians to meet organizational objectives and the administration of the Medical Advisory Committee (“MAC”).

Ornge’s Medical Advisory Committee is composed of the regional Medical Directors of Ornge, all of whom are physicians, including the Chief of Staff, Chair of the Committee and the Chairs of all standing committees of the MAC. Its mandate is to provide advice for, and supervision of, all aspects of medical care that fall under Ornge’s scope. It advises on best medical practices that meet or exceed the standard of care based on available evidence and expert medical opinion.
