Launched Wednesday, May 5, 2021, staff in healthcare facilities across Ontario will be able to access the newly updated Provincial Transfer Authorization Centre (PTAC).

“Our partners use PTAC on a daily basis to book patient transports. These new updates increase efficiency and improve the way our partners navigate, engage and interact with our system – it helps create a positive user experience.” Said Fabiano Medugno, Director of Ornge's Operations Control Centre.
          
Some of the updates to the PTAC website include:

• Redesign of homepage and login page
• Development of 9 streamlined user actions for easy access of key PTAC functions
• Creation of new direct access buttons including:
  • Direct Access to the Facility Patient Transfer Status Board
  • Direct Access as an Administrator to the Facility Administration Page

 



Funded by the Ministry of Health and administered on its behalf by Ornge, PTAC maintains a database of patient transfers within the province Ontario. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, PTAC has been a pivotal tool for healthcare providers, as it offers an online tool to screen patients prior to inter-facility transport within Ontario.
