At a ceremony last night, Vanessa Widdup (Paramedic - Chatham-Kent) was awarded with a Public Heroes Award from the Intercultural Dialogue Institute (IDI).  

A peer nominated award, this award recognizes the dedication and excellence of individual members or team members in police, fire, paramedic services and specialized agencies including Ornge, for delivering services in an ethnically and culturally diverse environment. 

Award recipients are awarded based on altruism, dedication and community involvement.
