Ornge's Executive Management team is dedicated to serve the public interest, and strive to deliver worldclass air ambulance, critical care land and paediatric transport programs service for Ontarians.
President and CEO
Dr. Andrew McCallum was appointed President and CEO on January 21, 2013. Prior to joining Ornge, he was the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
Dr. McCallum is a graduate of McMaster University School of Medicine. He served in the Canadian Forces as a medical officer and flight surgeon and then trained in Emergency Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. McCallum was appointed Regional Supervising Coroner for Eastern Ontario and adjunct Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Queens University in September 2003. He was previously Chief of Emergency Medicine and Chief of Staff at Hamilton Health Sciences, as well as Associate Professor of Medicine at McMaster University. Prior to his work in Hamilton, he held leadership positions at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO
Rob Giguere brings nearly four decades of aviation experience to Ornge. He was formerly President and CEO of Skyservice Airlines, and has held senior executive positions with Air Canada, including Executive Vice President of Operations.
Previously, he was Air Canada’s Senior Vice President of Flight Operations, and Chief Pilot. He was also active in the industry through voluntary roles as a board member, committee chair and representative with the Air Transport Association of Canada (ATAC), an Operations Council Member with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and an Operations Council Member and former Chairman (2003-2004) of the Air Transport Association (ATA) based out of Washington, D.C. Mr. Giguere began his career as a Line Pilot for Air Canada in 1974.
He currently is the Accountable Executive and holds both an Airline Transport Pilot and Flight Engineer license. Mr. Giguere completed his Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manitoba.
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Tien joins Ornge from Toronto’s Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre where he is the Medical Director for the Tory Regional Trauma Centre, Canada’s largest trauma centre and a frequent destination of Ornge patients. Previously he was a Colonel in the Canadian Forces, having served as a Staff General Surgeon and Medical Officer in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Myanmar.
Dr. Tien has had a distinguished career as a frontline military physician who has worked in combat zones, a well-regarded mentor within the Forces, a researcher in the field of trauma medicine, and as an educator at the University of Toronto. His accolades include the Order of Military Merit, presented to members of the Canadian Forces who demonstrate dedication and devotion beyond the call of duty.
General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Susan has over twenty years of experience in corporate/commercial law and brings with her experience in both the public sector and in the role of Corporate Secretary.
Prior to Ornge, Susan spent eight years with the Ontario Power Authority as Counsel, Director Corporate/Commercial Law, Associate General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Prior to joining the Ontario Power Authority, Susan practiced corporate and business law for a total of 12 years at three law firms following her attainment of her LL.B./M.B.A.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Foster brings over four decades of Human Resources and Labour Relations experience to Ornge.
Prior to joining Ornge, Foster was Vice President, Human Resources and Labour Relations with The Beer Store and Brewers Distributors Ltd., and has previously held senior executive positions with Coca-Cola Foods and Pharma Plus Drugmarts.
Foster is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario (Economics) and Mc Master University (Personnel Management Designation). He is the recipient of the inaugural award from the Human Resources Professional Association for Corporate Social Responsibility and received the Retail Council of Canada Award for Achievement in Health and Safety.
