From September 8 to 14, we’re celebrating Air Ambulance Week! This week aims at raising awareness of the lifesaving work carried out by air ambulances across the country.

As Ontario’s air ambulance service, we are deeply committed to ensuring that every person, regardless of where they live, has access to timely and life-saving care with our renewed mission: to overcome time and distance when it matters most. Our vision, “Health Equity in Motion,” reflects our dedication to removing barriers to healthcare across the province, especially in the most remote and underserved regions.

Air Ambulance Week is also an opportunity to express our appreciation for everyone who makes our mission possible, from paramedics, pilots, and aircraft maintenance engineers, to our Operations Control Centre and dedicated office staff. Everyone plays an essential role in delivering timely, high-quality care to the people of Ontario.

Team Ornge would also like to extend a shoutout to our air ambulance colleagues across Canada, and to all those who support them. Whether you're in the cockpit, on the tarmac, behind the dispatch desk, or working behind the scenes, your dedication helps ensure patients receive critical care when and where they need it most.

Have you or a loved one been transported by Ornge? We’d love to hear your story. Sharing your experience helps raise awareness about the importance of safety and access to care, and offers insight to others who may be facing similar journeys. Ornge performs approximately 20,000 patient-related transports each year from communities across Ontario, but we rarely get to learn what happens after the transport is complete. Your story matters, and we invite you to help us better understand the impact of our work. To share your story, click here.
